Kaleb Johnson Venturing to 34 Raceway Saturday for Sprint Invaders Season Opener
Inside Line Promotions – SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (April 8, 2024) – Kaleb Johnson aims to get the 2024 season underway this Saturday during a Sprint Invaders show at 34 Raceway.
“It’s exciting for sure,” he said. “The plan was to go racing at the end of March and that didn’t happen so that forced us to sit around for longer. The time off allowed us to prepare some things for the rest of the year though.”
Saturday marks only the third career race at the dirt oval in West Burlington, Iowa, for Johnson.
“We raced there twice last year and didn’t have the greatest results,” he said. “We missed the show the first night and went backwards the second night. If anything that showed us things we shouldn’t do there. I think we’ll be more prepared and ready this time around.”
The goal for Saturday is simply to knock the offseason rust off.
“We want to roll it into the trailer in one piece,” Johnson said. “The first race of the year you just don’t want to come home with a torn up race car. The biggest goal is to make it through the night without any issues.”
Saturday will also be one of between one and two dozen 360ci winged sprint car starts this season as Johnson plans to spend approximately 75 percent of the 2024 campaign behind the wheel of his 410ci winged sprint car.
